Jewish Listening Circle

Jewish Listening Circle

Wednesday, October 22, 6:30 – 8:45 p.m.

The synagogue will be open starting at 6:00 p.m.

Please RSVP by October 20th.

You are invited to join us for our next Jewish Listening Circle as we reflect on what’s in our hearts and on our minds as we begin the new year. Shema, meaning listen, is one of the most important words in Judaism. Our kavanah – our intention – is to provide a compassionate and empathic space for connection. There’s a lot going on for all of us, both in personal lives and in the world around us.  Listening, being listened to, and community can make a big difference in our lives, especially during difficult or uncertain times. We will practice thoughtful listening in pairs or trios and then in the larger group.  This will not be an open discussion but rather a structured opportunity for each person to listen and be listened to. There will be ground rules to ensure a gathering based on kindness, respect and appreciation. This group will be facilitated by Judy Brodkey, an experienced facilitator who has led many listening groups.

Please RSVP by emailing jewfedsc@bethshalomsiouxcity.org  by Sunday, October 20th.This will help us with planning and set-up. If you forget to RSVP, please come anyway.  We hope you will join us for this special evening.
